We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. This role will offer the opportunity to work within a non-profit organization, directly impacting its financial health and sustainability. You will be a key player in our finance department, responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including maintaining the general ledger, managing accounts receivable, and conducting financial forecasting.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include
• Overseeing all aspects of Accounts Receivable and General Ledger, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards.
• Preparing accurate and timely financial reports and statements, ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures.
• Conducting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasting, providing strategic recommendations based on financial analysis and projections.
• Coordinating with the finance team to complete annual audits, and coordinating with external auditors as necessary.
• Assisting in the development and implementation of new accounting systems and processes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
• Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements, advising management on needed actions.
• Providing support and guidance to junior staff members, fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Senior Accountant position should possess the following qualifications
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within a non-profit organization.
• Profound knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Financial Accounting.
• Strong forecasting skills, with the ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
• Excellent attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and other business-related software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
