Role Overview
We are urgently seeking a Semi-Senior Accountant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in delivering high-quality bookkeeping, management accounts, and compliance services, and is comfortable navigating multiple software platforms (IRIS, Sage, QuickBooks, Excel). Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping Management Accounts:
Manage monthly and quarterly bookkeeping for an assigned portfolio of clients.
Prepare and analyse management accounts, offering proactive insights to improve business performance.
Financial Statements Audits:
Compile financial statements in line with relevant accounting standards, utilising IRIS software.
Assist in accounting audits, liaising with clients and collating necessary documentation.
Software Proficiency Compliance:
Use IRIS, Sage, QuickBooks, and Excel to maintain and reconcile financial records.
Ensure client compliance with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements, providing clear guidance on processes and best practices.
Client Relationship Management:
Maintain open, professional lines of communication, delivering sound financial advice and responding promptly to client queries.
Collaborate closely with team members to uphold our reputation for outstanding customer service.
Requirements
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years in a similar accounting role, ideally within an accountancy practice.
Demonstrated experience with bookkeeping, management accounts, and financial statement compilation (IRIS preferred).
Familiarity with audits, including gathering documentation and supporting auditors.
Qualifications:
ACCA or ACA qualification (or working towards completion) is highly desirable.
QBE (Qualified By Experience) candidates with a strong track record will also be considered.
Skills Attributes:
Excellent proficiency in IRIS, Sage, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of MTD regulations and processes.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with clients and colleagues alike.
A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
