Job Description
Department: Environment
Job Summary: Maintains cleanliness of resident’s rooms and overall general facility. Responsible to report maintenance and environment concerns to supervisor to assure proper function and appearance of the facility. Responsible to maintain proper supplies needed for job.
Job Scope: No supervisory or budgetary responsibilities
Immediate Supervisor: Dietary Supervisor
Principal duties and responsibilities: Maintains cleanliness of Resident’s rooms Dusts (including but not limited to: tables, chairs, windows, window sills, mirrors, blinds, light fixtures, shelves, knick knacks, etc.)
Clean walls & cabinetry
Floor Care (including but not limited to: sweeping & mopping, vacuuming, spot treatments for stains, etc.)
Clean Bathrooms & kitchenette areas (including but not limited to: cleaning sinks, toilets, showers, counter tops, tile walls, mirrors, grab bars, etc.)
Empties Trash and cleans trash receptacles
Assist resident with clutter and trash removal
Assures room is free of bugs and cobwebs
Assist Residents with extra cleaning as requested.
Maintains cleanliness of Facility rooms Dusts (including but not limited to: tables, chairs, windows, window sills, mirrors, blinds, light fixtures, shelves, knick knacks, etc.)
Clean walls & cabinetry
Floor Care (including but not limited to: sweeping & mopping, vacuuming, spot treatments for stains, etc.)
Clean public Bathrooms, shower rooms and water fountains (including but not limited to: cleaning sinks, toilets, showers, counter tops, tile walls, mirrors, grab bars, etc.)
Empties Trash and cleans trash receptacles
Assures facility is free of bugs and cobwebs
Assist attendants during lunch meal as requested.
Cleans and uses designed chemicals and maintains a Material Safety Data Sheet on each product.
Reports with proper documentation draperies & carpet in need of cleaning; damaged furniture, burned out light bulbs, leaky faucets, rodent issues and other items requiring maintenance attention.
Tends to the needs and requests of the residents, family members, co-workers and visitors in a courteous and polite manner. Corresponds and serves residents in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort.
Reports any changes in residents’ behavior to Resident Care Manager.
Maintains good level of communication between all staff, residents, their family members, visitors, volunteers and contractors.
Fills out weekly housekeeping log.
Adheres to instructions issued by Managers and Executive Director.
Attends weekday huddle meetings and required in-service training classes.
Knows and understands the emergency procedures and the disaster plan for Golden Age Home and participates in fire drills.
Supports the mission of Golden Age Home.
All other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
Excellent customer service skills.
The ability to routinely do repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions.
The knowledge of sanitation procedures. The skills needed to use various janitorial tools and the understanding of the use and consequences in the use of chemicals.
Good use of organizational and time management skills.
Familiarity with basic office machines (telephone, copy machine, fax machine).
Demonstrate caution and good judgement at all times in the performance of duties.
Minimum Education, Certification, and Experience Requirements
Must have the following:
Proof of graduation from an accredited high school or certification of equivalency of graduation
Valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation with a driving record that conforms with the Golden Age Home’s vehicle policy.
Preferred:
at least one year of experience working in housekeeping related job
CDL license and experience driving a passenger bus
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $10.00 - $12.50 per hour
