Salesforce QA Engineer-3 to 5 Years-Remote
Job Description
The ideal candidate has solid hands-on experience in manual testing of the Salesforce platform, a strong functional understanding of Sales Cloud, and a good grasp of how sandboxes, profiles, permission sets, and page layouts affect access and user experience. You should be detail-oriented, proactive, and able to assess user impact and surface defects early in the development lifecycle.
Must-Have Skills & Experience
Testing Foundation
• 3+ years of overall QA / manual testing experience, including hands-on experience testing Salesforce applications
• Strong grasp of core testing concepts — test case design, execution, defect logging, and functional & regression testing
• Salesforce Sandboxes: Proven understanding of various Salesforce sandbox types and their effective utilisation in testing environments
Salesforce Functional Knowledge
• Sales Cloud: Solid knowledge and experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud functionalities and features
• Custom and Standard Objects: In-depth understanding of Salesforce standard and custom objects, including their relationships (lookup, master-detail)
• Profile & Permission Set, Page Layouts: Expertise in testing configurations related to Profiles, Permission Sets, and Page Layouts to validate access, visibility, and user experience
• Salesforce Flows & Approval Processes: Understanding and experience in testing Salesforce Flows and Approval Processes
Integration & API Testing
• API Integrations: Experience in debugging and testing integrations with upstream and downstream systems via APIs
• Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman to validate request/response payloads, status codes, and error handling
• Ability to trace data flow between Salesforce and connected systems to isolate and reproduce integration defects
Process & Tools
• Working knowledge of SDLC, STLC, and Agile / Scrum methodology
• Experience with test management and defect-tracking tools such as Jira, Zephyr, or TestRail
• Ability to write clear, reproducible bug reports and collaborate closely with developers on resolution
Good-to-Have Skills
• Salesforce Administrator (ADM 201) or a Salesforce QA-related certification
• Basic knowledge of SOQL for backend data validation
• Exposure to test automation tools (e.g. Provar, Selenium) or willingness to learn
• Familiarity with Service Cloud or Experience Cloud
Key Responsibilities
• Design, document, and execute manual test cases for Salesforce configurations, objects, flows, and integrations
• Test Salesforce Flows, Approval Processes, Validation Rules, and page layouts against functional requirements
• Validate access, visibility, and user experience across different Profiles and Permission Sets
• Set up and use the appropriate Salesforce sandboxes to run and manage testing cycles
• Debug and test API integrations with upstream and downstream systems, validating data accuracy end to end
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and UAT-support testing across releases
• • Log, track, and re-test defects, working with developers and business analysts through to resolutions
