Safe Quality Food (SQF) Auditor

Contract
100% travel required near homebase
Roles and Responsibilities:
Auditor will be trained on program requirements and participate in ongoing training, knowledge share and process improvement.
Conduct audits to specific standards and follow core verification process by coordinating verifications with staff and client, preparing for onsite verifications, conducting verifications, ensuring client records are thoroughly maintained, completing the verification checklist and submitting all relevant information applicable to internal teams within established timelines.
Use applicable checklists, forms and technology with company equipment provided for gathering information for the audits.
Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the assigned program verification process, maintaining understanding of regulations, as well as Where Food Comes From’s (WFCF) policies and procedures.
Attend required trainings, internally and externally, to maintain qualifications to conduct audits and knowledge of applicable regulations and standards.
Book travel, hotel, and transportation according to company policy and submit applicable expense reports for reimbursement.
Adhere to all client’s quality and code of conduct standards including but not limited to: Biosecurity, SQF, and GMP (General Manufacturing Practices).
Communicate with WFCF clients during the audit process on the requirements of the applicable regulations.
Maintain professionalism and positive client relationships and respond to all client inquiries and concerns related to the audit. Elevate concerns or questions to program verification team as needed.
Develop new client relationships with hands-on services related to their verification needs and industry standards.
Respond to WFCF team member requests for information.
Conduct pre-audit file review and post-audit reporting work.
Collect samples as instructed.
Perform any other responsibilities, as needed.
Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in food science, bio science or related degree and/or 10+ years of SQF auditing experience in the egg and feed industries.
SQF Certification and previous SQF auditing experience.
At least 5 years of work experience in egg plant, egg farm, and/or feed mills.
Must be able to demonstrate 160 hours of auditing experience. Only audits that have been acquired up to 10 years prior to application will be accepted.
HACCP training certification.
