Primary patient population: This is a med/surg unit that focuses on general surgery, as well as hospice and palliative patients.
Unit Size: 18-bed unit
Target Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5 to 1:6 *subject to change based on census numbers and patient care needs

Summary:
Guided by knowledge of the basic principles of nursing based on the biological, physical, and psycho-social sciences, utilizes judgment supported by evidence and nursing theory in the delivery of nursing care. Provides, coordinates and/or delegates nursing care and manages resources in the delivery of care for patients, the family of patients and the community, with the goal of attaining, maintaining and restoring optimum health.
Per Diem Requirements:
Working a minimum of 24 hours in a four-week schedule period
Inpatient, Behavioral Health, and Emergency Department staff must work at least 12 hours on a weekend, holiday, or hard-to-fill shift.
o Holidays include: New Year’s, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
o Hard-to-fill shifts include: Super bowl Sunday, President’s Day, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Eve
Surgical Services staff must meet scheduling requirements as set by unit director / ACNO
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Formal Education Required:
a. Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Applicants with an Associate’s degree will be considered but are required to obtain BSN within three (3) years of employment
