Research Staff Position – Development of Copolymers for Vibration Damping Applications
???? Summary:
The Department of Chemical Sciences, IISER Kolkata, invites applications from Indian citizens for a temporary Research Staff position in a Naval Research Board (DRDO)-funded project. The position is initially for 1 year and is extendable based on project needs and candidate performance. The role focuses on the development of gradient and block copolymers with applications in vibration damping across broad temperature and frequency ranges.

• Essential: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Physics, or Biology
• Desirable: Prior experience in polymer characterization, especially using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC)
???? Job Description:
• Participate in a DRDO-sponsored project aimed at developing innovative polymers with broad glass transition temperature (Tg) regions
• Conduct polymer synthesis and characterization, particularly focusing on vibration damping properties
• Candidates with hands-on DSC experience will be given preference
• Work under the supervision of Prof. Priyadarsi De in the Polymer Research Center
???? Salary:
Rs. 20,000/- per month (Consolidated)
