Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and innovative R&D Chemist to develop high-quality cosmetic and personal care products for domestic and international markets. The ideal candidate should have strong formulation expertise, knowledge of regulatory requirements, and hands-on experience with export documentation, including CDSCO compliance where applicable.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development
• Develop innovative formulations for skincare, haircare, men’s grooming, personal care, oral care, and cosmetic products.
• Reformulate existing products to improve performance, stability, and cost efficiency.
• Conduct laboratory trials, pilot batches, and scale-up activities for commercial production.
• Source and evaluate new raw materials and ingredients from domestic and international suppliers.
• Troubleshoot formulation and manufacturing issues during production.
Product Testing & Validation
• Conduct stability studies, compatibility testing, preservative efficacy, and performance evaluations.
• Ensure formulations comply with BIS, CDSCO, and international regulatory requirements.
• Prepare product specifications, manufacturing procedures, and quality standards.
Regulatory & Documentation
• Prepare and maintain Product Information Files (PIF), technical dossiers, and formulation records.
• Coordinate CDSCO documentation and regulatory submissions wherever applicable.
• Prepare documentation required for product registrations in export markets.
• Generate technical documents including:
• Certificate of Analysis (COA)
• Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS)
• Technical Data Sheets (TDS)
• Ingredient declarations
• Product specifications
• Stability reports
• Coordinate with regulatory consultants and certification agencies.
Export Compliance
• Support product registrations in international markets.
• Prepare documentation required by overseas regulatory authorities.
• Ensure formulations comply with destination-country regulations.
• Coordinate with export and commercial teams for technical approvals.
Cross-Functional Coordination
• Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Marketing, and Export teams.
• Provide technical support during audits, customer visits, and regulatory inspections.
• Assist in customer-specific product development and private-label projects.
Required Qualifications
• B.Sc./M.Sc. in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
• 3–8 years of experience in cosmetic or personal care product formulation.
• Strong understanding of cosmetic raw materials, emulsions, surfactants, preservatives, fragrances, and active ingredients.
• Experience in laboratory equipment and pilot-scale manufacturing.
• Good knowledge of GMP, ISO 22716, BIS, and CDSCO regulations.
• Experience preparing export regulatory documentation and technical dossiers.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and documentation management.
Preferred Skills
• Hands-on experience in formulation of creams, lotions, shampoos, hair oils, shaving creams, shaving foams, aftershaves, deodorants, talcum powders, petroleum jelly, toothpaste, face wash, serums, and gels.
• Knowledge of international cosmetic regulations (EU, GCC, ASEAN, Africa, UK, and other export markets) is preferred.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Strong communication and documentation abilities.
