Remote HR Generalist (Canada)
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
• Manage onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle documentation across provinces
• Maintain HRIS records, reporting, and data quality (audits, changes, access controls)
• Support benefits administration, leave management, and enrollment changes
• Coordinate payroll inputs and resolve employee pay/benefits inquiries with vendors
• Handle employee relations intake, investigations support, and issue documentation
• Support performance management cycles, calibration logistics, and manager enablement
• Draft, update, and socialize HR policies (remote work, conduct, time off, compliance)
• Ensure compliance with Canadian employment standards and privacy expectations
• Partner with Talent Acquisition on requisition intake, screening coordination, and hiring workflows
• Track HR metrics (turnover, time-to-fill, onboarding completion, case volumes) and recommend improvements
Qualifications
• 3+ years of HR Generalist experience supporting remote or multi-site teams
• Working knowledge of Canadian employment standards and common provincial variations
• Experience using HRIS tools (e.g., Workday, BambooHR, ADP, Rippling) with high data accuracy
• Strong documentation skills for policies, SOPs, and employee relations case notes
• Comfort coordinating across time zones and managing confidential information
Nice to have
• CHRP/CHRL (or in progress)
• Experience supporting cross-border teams (Canada/US) and vendor coordination
• Exposure to compensation benchmarking and job leveling support
