Responsibilities
Provides operational assistance of the daily operational activities
Provides ongoing education, coaching, and mentoring to assigned staff
Monitors report as outlined by department leader to ensure daily work flow/volumes are managed, opportunities are identified, and interventional results are realized and acted upon
May post metrics and progress data at the local level
Works in collaboration with the department leader in oversight of day to day operations which includes mentoring, orientation/ training and problem solving
Identifies and gathers pertinent performance and quality concerns and addresses them as appropriate
Participates in the performance review process by soliciting peer feedback, collating on behalf of department leader and providing input
Assists with oversight and supervision of staff
Assists department leaders with on the job training of new staff ensuring compliance/completion of assigned/required tasks, as well as departmental policies/procedures
Assists in staff planning/attendance, management/recording and time off process
Participates in the development of training and procedure manuals
Leads or participates in regular staff and department meetings
As an SSM Health nurse, I will demonstrate the professional nursing standards defined in the professional practice model
Uses the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses to guide his/her response to the current and evolving health and nursing needs of our patients and our patient populations
