Job – Reception Assessor Technician

Salary - Permanent, Part Time – Tuesday, Thursday & Friday (21.6 hours per week) - £13,780 - £14,561.75 per annum – Term Time Only

Holiday – Holiday pay is included in salary

Location – Ware Campus

Hertford Regional College is excited to welcome a passionate and dedicated member of staff to our growing team. The Reception Assessor Technician plays a key role in supporting the effective operation of the Hairdressing, Barbering and Beauty Therapy department and its commercial salons. As the department delivers evening classes on occasions throughout the year, a flexible approach to working hours may be required to provide reception cover during evening salon sessions when students begin working with clients.

About the Role

The successful candidate will provide technical and receptionist support to the department ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience for clients, students and staff. Working within a realistic commercial environment, the role will coordinate salon bookings, manage client interactions, maintain records and support the day-to-day technical operation of the department. You will also support, supervise and assess learners undertaking reception and customer service duties as part of their programme, helping them to develop the professional behaviours, skills and knowledge required for employment within the hair and beauty industry.

About You


You will bring:

✔ Hair or Beauty Level 2 qualification

✔ Customer Service Level 2

✔ Educated to at least level 2, or C or above in GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths or willingness to achieve within an agreed period

✔ Qualification in assessing learning (AQA, A1/A2) or a willingness to achieve within an agreed time

✔ Up to date commercial experience of working in the Hair and Beauty Industry

✔ Administrative skills and familiarity with the use of PC based systems such Microsoft Office (email, internet)

✔ Dealing with the public in a service sector environment

✔ Handling money, cashing up, reconciling a cash desk

✔ Working with the 16-24 age group

✔ Working as part of a team
