**Role Overview:**
As a QA Engineer at Wispr Flow, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the product works flawlessly on Windows and iOS devices before each release. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the high quality and reliability of the product for millions of users who rely on it daily.
• *Key Responsibilities:**
- Own pre-release testing on every build by running the manual regression suite on physical devices before each Windows and iOS release.
- Pull, build, and test from the source by checking out branches from GitHub, building the app locally, and testing specific changes in isolation.
- Read code to test smarter by understanding the impact of code changes and creating test cases accordingly.
- Use AI tools to debug and investigate issues, providing precise context in bug reports for engineers to reproduce and fix.
- Test across various apps, devices, and conditions, ensuring compatibility and functionality in diverse environments.
- Maintain and grow the test case library, identifying opportunities for automation and collaborating with the engineering team.
- Monitor quality in the wild by proactively addressing emerging patterns in crash reports, user feedback, and support tickets.
• *Qualifications Required:**
- Prior engineering experience with a strong understanding of codebases and software development.
- Comfort with Git workflows including branching, pulling, building from source, and reading code differentials.
- Ability to read Swift and Windows-side code to comprehend code changes.
- Hands-on manual testing experience on iOS and/or Windows platforms.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code.
- Proficiency in meticulous bug reporting with detailed reproduction steps and context.
- High ownership mindset and attention to detail that ensures product quality.
