Are you an experienced and driven professional with a passion for governance and administration?

Your expertise will be invaluable in ensuring compliance with legislative, financial and policy frameworks and good governance principles while providing high-level advice and support on a broad range of governance matters.

The Project Officer role is integral to implementing a range of Government commitments arising from agreements with Traditional Owners. This role will support the team to provide timely and trusted advice in the area of public sector governance relating to Traditional Owner Land Management Boards, including appointments, annual reports and financial management compliance. Additionally, the role will have an important role in the administration and execution of Government financial commitments.

To be successful in this position, you need to be motivated and conscientious, display a `can-do' attitude, be a strong team player and actively contribute to the successful delivery of a range of outcomes that benefit Traditional Owner communities.

We are also looking for a candidate with good judgement, sound communication skills (written and verbal) with attention to detail and excellent work tracking. Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

Qualifications in the areas relevant to public sector governance - such as accounting, financial management or business management - will be highly regarded
Experience and knowledge in the development and delivery of policy, programs and projects; use of these skills in the context of land management, governance and Traditional Owner program management and/or implementation is advantageous.
Knowledge of financial management systems - experience with Oracle and Global Engagement Management System (GEMS) financial services software - will be highly regarded.
This is a fixed term position available until 1+ June 2026. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street Melbourne or flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
