Job Description

Full job description
About The Role
Start your tech career with support from day one
You do not need your whole career mapped out before you apply. If you are curious, organised, and calm when things get busy, this program can help you build the skills and confidence to start in tech.
Training starts in FDM's Skills Lab, followed by assignments with leading Australian and global organisations. We match you to an assignment based on your strengths, interests, and career goals.

Start dates: rolling intake. Apply now.

Your first 12 weeks
You will build practical skills in SQL, IT service management, root cause analysis, APIs, cloud fundamentals, security alerts, and automation. You will have coaches and support around you while you practise.

Roles you could move into
Production Support Analyst: detect, investigate, and resolve issues so services keep running.
Site Reliability Engineer: support stable systems and improve reliability.
Support Analyst: help users and teams solve technical issues.
Infrastructure Engineer: support servers, cloud environments, operating systems, and tools.
Risk Analyst: help teams identify and communicate risks.
Where it leads: Your path can open into technical analysis, production support, site reliability, infrastructure, risk, or cloud roles.

Consultant quote
“At FDM, I secured my first client assignment before even finishing training.” — Aimee Watson, Application Analyst

Why women choose FDM
Up to 12 weeks of practical training in FDM’s Skills Lab before your first client assignment
Commercial experience with major global organisations across banking, insurance, energy, health and more
Hands-on exposure to real tools and teams, including the environments used by leading technology employers
Ongoing coaching and career support as you move from training into client work
Mentors, coaches and a wider consultant community to help you build confidence and stay connected
A supportive women’s network designed to connect, encourage and champion women starting out in tech
About You
You might not see yourself as the “typical” tech candidate. That is exactly why you should consider applying.
Many women wait until they meet every requirement before they put themselves forward. You do not need to know everything already. We are looking for potential, not perfection.
If you are organised, curious, steady under pressure and ready to learn, we want to hear from you.

You’ll bring:
A bachelor’s degree in any field
Eligibility to work in Australia as a citizen or permanent resident
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
The ability to pick things up quickly and adapt to new environments
Openness to relocating for client projects in Sydney or Melbourne, with relocation support provided
Working arrangement: office-based three to five days per week, depending on the client.
