Programs Assistant/ Summer Camp Supervisor Mahogany Homeowners Association
Job Description
This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, creative, enjoys working with children and families, and is passionate about delivering exceptional community programming.
September – April: 0.5 FTE
May – August: 1.0 FTE (Summer Camp Supervisor)
Duties
Assist with the planning, coordination, and delivery of recreation, wellness, and community programs.
Develop engaging lesson plans and program outlines for children's and adult programming.
Teach Mahogany HOA internal recreation and wellness classes as required.
Coordinate program supplies and equipment.
Complete program administration, including participant data entry and registration support.
Maintain accurate program records and attendance.
Assist with instructor communication and scheduling.
Support marketing initiatives by providing program information, photos, and promotional content.
Monitor program quality and participant satisfaction.
Provide excellent customer service to members, residents, and program participants.
Assist with special events and seasonal programming as required.
Supervise the daily operations of Mahogany HOA Summer Camps.
Recruit, train, mentor, and support camp staff and volunteers.
Ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging camp environment.
Oversee daily camp schedules, activities, field trips, and special events.
Manage camper attendance, incident documentation, and parent communication.
Conduct staff coaching, evaluations, and performance management.
Ensure all safety policies, emergency procedures, and child protection standards are followed.
Support problem-solving with campers, families, and staff.
Maintain program quality while delivering an exceptional camp experience.
Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Recreation, Education, Child and Youth Care, Kinesiology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience working with children in recreation, camps, or educational settings.
Experience teaching or facilitating recreation, fitness, wellness, or children's programs is considered an asset.
Strong organizational and administrative skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and registration software (an asset).
Ability to multitask and work independently.
Leadership experience supervising staff is considered an asset.
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
