Remuneration: Band 3 - $73,605.21 - $88,997.93 + 12% superannuation

Location - 737 Bourke Street, Docklands Victoria 3008, Close to Southern Cross Train Station, Onsite or Hybrid; WFH (2-3 days)
About the role

The Program Officer, Workforce Development is responsible for planning, delivering and evaluating education and workforce development programs that support the primary health care workforce across the north western Melbourne region. The role focuses on coordinating program delivery and ensuring initiatives align with organisational priorities.

The role involves engaging with stakeholders across general practice, allied health, pharmacy and aged care to understand education needs and translate them into effective programs. It also supports the implementation of the Commonwealth Government's Greater Choices in Palliative Care initiative, contributing to activities that improve coordination, integration and quality of care for people with life-limiting conditions.

A typical week may include:

Plan, deliver and evaluate workforce development and education programs for primary health care providers
Engage with stakeholders to identify needs and inform the design and delivery of education programs
Coordinate end‑to‑end education delivery including events, CPD compliance, marketing, and accessible formats (online, webinar, regional)
Support workforce development strategy, key projects and the Greater Choices in Palliative Care initiative
Collaborate internally to align capability‑building activities and contribute to broader organisational programs and projects
Monitor outcomes, collect feedback, maintain resources, and support commissioning activities including procurement and contract processes.
About you:

Tertiary qualification in education, health promotion, health care and/or relevant experience in the development and implementation of education and training, preferably in a health setting.
Demonstrated experience in designing, developing and evaluating workforce development and capability building initiatives.
Experience in effective stakeholder engagement and relationship development, ideally with health professionals.
Well-developed written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, able to work proactively on a diverse range of projects with a diverse range of stakeholders.
High level organisational and workload management skills, self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve organisational and program specific goals.
Experience in the use and application of project management methodologies, and ability to lead and contribute as a member of a project team, effectively engaging with subject matter experts.
