Position Summary:
The Product Developer will oversee the entire product development process, from conceptualization to production. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Design, Materials, Merchandising, Quality, and Production/Sourcing. The ideal candidate will possess creative problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a passion for staying up-to-date with the latest fashion trends.
Roles Responsibilities:
• Coordinate with designers to ensure sampling requirements are met
• Develop products from concept to production, emphasizing category and performance materials within apparel
• Prepare sampling orders for tailors, interpreting style techpacks and explaining style requirements to sampling masters and pattern masters
• Review and correct patterns based on fit and size set comments
• Monitor quality aspects of samples
• Follow up on sampling processes end-to-end
• Submit samples to designers and follow up on approvals
Competencies Abilities:
• 2-3 years of experience in garment manufacturing and the fashion industry (strongly preferred)
• Well-rounded experience in Womenswear Category
• Experience with technical performance apparel fit and construction specifically in the Womenswear category
• Degree in Apparel/Fashion Design or a related major
• Strong people management and communication skills
• Highly detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Understanding of garments, fabrics, trims, and accessories
• Creative by nature with a good knack for design ideation
Education / Qualification:
A diploma/degree in Graphic Design or Visual Arts is a must. The candidate should have a background in Graphic Design/Visual communication or 2+ years of relevant experience in the field. Experience in Fashion/Apparel/E-commerce industry is a plus. Basic understanding of patterns is essential, and a strong fashion sense with knowledge of current and upcoming trends is highly desirable.
