You will be primarily responsible for working across functions to develop, implement and maintain scalable processes to ensure compliance with global corporate governance and regulatory requirements.
What you'll do- Work on a globally dispersed team within New Relic Legal primarily focused on corporate governance, corporate development, and MA
- Collaborate with and support a wide variety of departments including finance and accounting, marketing, and stock administration
- Manage the administration of New Relic’s global corporate subsidiaries, including India governance
- Monitor trends in global corporate compliance to advise Legal department leadership
- Assist in drafting and reviewing corporate communications
- Evaluate issues from legal and business perspectives with a practical, business-oriented approach to problem solving
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to set, review, and improve policies and workflows for greater efficiency, collaboration, and risk management
- This role requires- **7+ years of corporate legal experience, which must include relevant time at a major law firm in the U.S., U.K., Singapore or Australia, along with 2+ years of in-house experience (which may include law firm secondments and in-house placements via alternative legal services providers)**:
- Extensive experience advising on corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory matters
- Excellent written, oral, and negotiation communication skills in standard English
- Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad range of legal matters
- Ability to work on your own as well as take a leadership role in collaborative projects involving personnel from various functional areas (Finance, Accounting, People Operations, etc.)
- Ability to prioritize multiple, often competing deliverables while managing expectations meeting deadlines
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate effectively and gain trust and confidence with personnel at many different levels
- Ability to work as a team member of the legal department in a scalable, autonomous and accountable manner, demonstrating flexibility across matter types and time zones
- Patience, good humor, and the ability to give and receive feedback graciously
- Active bar license in good standing in the state in which you reside
- Bonus points if you have- Secondary bar license in a U.S. or European jurisdiction
- Understanding of software development, design, or product management processes
