Role Accountabilities
• Preparing and reviewing engineering deliverables including complex reports, proposals, presentations with the Australian Renewables Power Team.
• Prepare documented package for the appropriate project design submission stage, applying engineering knowledge, techniques, tools, and complying with codes and standards.
• Taking responsibility for the preparation of detailed engineering documentation and leading the engineering effort for project including providing technical and performance oversight for members of the team.
• To manage selected projects, project task/responsibilities as assigned, and/or design processes (or parts of projects) to meet agreed budget, quality and timeframe targets.
• Conduct internal review and quality checks of engineering models, calculations, and other deliverables to ensure compliance with the project's requirements and delivering the fully documented package to meet Client objectives and Arcadis quality system requirements.
• Engineering MV and LV power generation and distribution networks.
• Conducting load flow, short circuit, harmonics, and arc flash studies of power networks.
• Conducting protection coordination and setting study.
• Leading interdisciplinary coordination as required for the project.
• Leading technical issue resolution processes.
• Liaise with other disciplines and ensure all requirements are understood.
• Understanding scope and change in scope when it arises.
• Use software packages as required for the design and delivery.
Qualifications And Experience
• A minimum of 10 years’ professional engineering experience, preferably in renewable energy projects in a consulting environment.
• Experienced in engineering power generation and distribution networks in MV and LV level.
• Experienced in preparing engineering design packages including design drawings, engineering reports, datasheets, MTO, BOM, Layouts, Schematics and other documents.
• Experienced in power system studies including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, harmonics, protection coordination, and setting.
• Experience in developing complex models and conducting power system studies using any of the following software package:
• ETAP, EMTP, SKM PTW, PSSE, DigSilent Powerfactory or similar software packages.
• Experience with the codes and standards relevant to power sector and electricity market.
• Graduate of Bachelor of Engineering/Technology/ Science in Electrical Engineering from recognized University.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Excellent mathematical skills applied in engineering calculations.
• Organizational skills and proactive approach in project management.
• Ability to provide innovative solutions to technical problems.
• Ability to lead, with good influencing, motivating and delegating skills.
• Actively continue to develop technical knowledge and new emerging technology through regular CPD (Continuing Professional Development) training.
Highly Regarded Skills
• Familiarity with the Australian electricity market, electricity generation, transmission and distribution practices and related topics.
• Conducting power system transient studies including generator connection (GPS), switching transients and motor starting.
• Consulting experience for Australian power projects.
• Professional registration with any leading engineering body such as Engineers Australia.
• Experience in renewables such as solar and wind power generation plants.
• Computational design, design algorithms and automation of data manipulation.
