Preschool Teacher Job profile and Description
A preschool teacher is an individual, with the duty of teaching young kids and taking care of
the kids throughout the day. They play an important role by helping the children interact
with others. Preschool teachers perform very important role in moulding the life of young
kids. They provide young kids an environment that is both caring and safe where they can
grow and learn.
Duties –
1. Ensure that a safe and secure learning environment is provided to the kids.
2. Develop and maintain a constructive and ongoing rapport with children and parents
3. Ensure that a variety of materials and resources is provided to the kids to explore,
manipulate and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play
4. Attend to children's basic needs
5. Enforce all administration policies and rules
6. Implementing curriculum and given planner with guided activities
7. Enforce policies, take daily observation/anecdotes, plan for each activity
8. Responsible for child’s development and growth in various aspects
+. Ensure that the parents concern is being addressed without affecting relationships
with them
10. Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in the development, evaluation,
and revision of high scope programs
11. Store, maintain, enhance the inventory and educational materials of the classroom
12. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet child’s various needs
and interests
13. Participates in all the trainings
Skills and Specification
• Have at least 1 year of experience of working as a teacher in a pre-school setting
• Should be efficient enough to handle young kids
• Ability to develop good relationship with parents, children and colleagues
• Ability to self - evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities
• Good mental and physical health
• Caring and loving attitude with a sense of humor
• Friendly, flexible approach, open for feedback
• Should be at least graduate/ECCE, NTT certified
• Should have warm and welcoming personality with excellent communication
skills(spoken and written
