THE POSITION: This position will be responsible for Power BI Report development and Analytics for Pharma business domain. The position involves effective understanding of business needs combined with a knowledge of pertinent data to design reporting solutions that are meaningful and well thought out based on business requirements, standards and best practices. The goal will be to deliver quality work in a timely fashion consistent with established standards and work consist of report development, dashboard development, framework maintenance and development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Collaborate with business users and members of IT, including business analysts, to design and develop Reports/BI Dashboards using Power BI platform
• Participate and lead in Requirement workshops and communicate with the Business users
• Candidate will be responsible for continuous improvement, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of all Power BI Dashboards, Standard Reports and Ad-hoc reporting requirements.
• Exhibit a commitment to data quality by validating results against sources specified in the requirements.
• Troubleshooting of report issues and performance issues that are critical and provide technical support to Power BI users
• Works closely with other teams to define and design data warehousing and reporting services. Participates on project teams and works closely with other analysts to assure design follows standard procedures.
• Develops, supports and implements Business Intelligence (BI) solutions using Power BI platform All other duties as assigned
• Maintains technical documentation for all packages, descriptions of the data and data structures including data definitions, metadata, data models, and data flow diagrams.
• Works closely with Power BI Administrator and Database DBA to ensure database performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems.
• Coordinates with Power BI Administrator and Database DBA to ensure security and backup policies are implemented and maintained on new objects in accordance with company standards.
• Provides database support by coding utilities, responding to user questions, and resolving problems.
• Assists with design of Business and Presentation layers. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Cars/Revitas Flex or Model N platform would be nice to have • Language: SQL, PL/SQL • Operating Systems: Unix, Windows • Databases: SQL Server, MS Access, Excel • Reporting: Power BI
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must have a minimum 5 years of experience in Reporting (5 to 8 years preferred) in Power BI platform development
• Sound understanding of SQL Server database, ability to understand and develop basic database objects such as tables, views, procedures and co-ordinate with database developers accordingly
• Strong understanding of data warehouse and business intelligence concepts and best practice methodologies.
• Experienced in gathering requirements and developing data warehouse solutions for Business Intelligence.
• Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field from an accredited college or university preferred
