A global IT company seeks skilled professionals to spearhead the migration of Oracle databases to PostgreSQL.
About the Role:
We are looking for a team member who can analyze and rewrite existing Oracle views, procedures, and functions to seamlessly integrate with PostgreSQL. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of both Oracle and PostgreSQL architectures, as well as expertise in SQL query optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Migrate Oracle Databases to PostgreSQL: Rewrite Oracle views, procedures, and functions to ensure seamless integration with PostgreSQL.
2. Optimize Query Performance: Collaborate with the development team to optimize query performance in the PostgreSQL database, ensuring optimal efficiency.
3. Develop Migration Strategies: Implement migration strategies and best practices, working closely with the development team.
4. Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the migration process.
5. Document Migration Process: Document the migration process, including any challenges faced and solutions implemented.
Required Skills:
1. Strong development expertise in both Oracle and PostgreSQL databases, with an understanding of architecture and features.
2. Proven experience in rewriting Oracle views, procedures, and functions to work in PostgreSQL.
3. Proficiency in SQL and experience in query optimization.
4. Familiarity with PostgreSQL features.
5. Knowledge of data migration best practices and tools like ora2pg, Oracle GoldenGate (preferred).
6. Familiarity with agile development methodologies.

Experience: 6-10 years
