We are offering an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual to join our team in a permanent, full-time capacity (37.5 hours per week), based at our Māngere Campus.

As the Placement Coordinator, you will manage fieldwork placements, ensuring tauira are matched with suitable agencies and supervised throughout their practicum. You’ll build relationships with stakeholders, support tauira from enrolment to graduation, and contribute to practicum teaching where needed. You’ll also handle administrative tasks such as agreements, progress reporting, and collaborating with Kaiako to ensure effective programme delivery.

As the Kaiako delivers the Bachelor of Bicultural Social Work programme, which involves developing lesson plans, facilitating lessons to tauira (students), responding to tauira learning needs, and evaluating their progress. The successful candidate is required to engage in Rangahau (research) and to maintain currency of subject knowledge. Some flexibility may be required to work some weekends and evenings.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about the social work sector, with both practical experience and a commitment to education, who can seamlessly fulfil the responsibilities of these two positions.

You will also bring with you:

Masters’ Degree (Level 9) in Social Work or related subject and demonstrate either holding or showing equivalence for NZQA standards assessed in this programme
You must be registered with the Social Work Registration Board (SWRB) hold a Practising Certificate
New Zealand Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching (Level 5) or equivalent
Proven experience in related role
As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) will be key.
