The Pipe Support Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and implementation of pipe support systems in various projects, ensuring that all piping is adequately supported according to industry standards and project specifications. This role involves collaboration with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution and integrity of piping systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and Analysis:Develop detailed designs for pipe support systems, including hangers, anchors, and guides, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API).
• Perform stress analysis of piping systems to determine the appropriate type and placement of supports.
• Utilize software tools such as CAESAR II, AutoPIPE, or equivalent for pipe stress analysis and support design.
• Project Coordination:Collaborate with piping, structural, and mechanical engineers to integrate support designs with overall plant design.
• Participate in project meetings to provide technical input and support project planning and execution.
• Coordinate with procurement and construction teams to ensure timely delivery and installation of pipe support materials.
• Documentation and Reporting:Prepare detailed support drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including design calculations, reports, and as-built drawings.
• Conduct technical reviews and approvals of vendor drawings and specifications.
• Field Support:Provide technical support during construction, including site inspections, troubleshooting, and resolution of design-related issues.
• Ensure that pipe supports are installed according to design specifications and project requirements.
• Participate in commissioning and start-up activities, ensuring that all pipe support systems are functional and meet performance criteria.
• Compliance and Standards:Ensure all designs meet relevant industry standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in pipe support engineering.
• Promote and ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies within the team and on-site.
