Job Description
Physiotherapist - Permanent part-time position 20 to 24 hours per week

The primary purpose of this position is to provide a specialist palliative care Physiotherapy service to Te Omanga Hospice patients. The delivery of quality interventions for inpatients and outpatients, assessing and advising on patients’ activities of daily living and supplying assistive equipment as required. Assisting in the management of pain, fatigue, neurological issues, and general deconditioning. Providing practical advice for family carers to assist with physical activities. To meet professional standards, contribute to service development activities, education, and quality initiatives, and actively participate as a member of the MDT. You will work closely with the Occupational Therapist.

Desired Skills and Experience
Professional Requirements

Must have:

NZ Registration as a Physiotherapist and hold a Current Practising Certificate

Current Full NZ Driver's License

Minimum of 3 years post graduate practice, including assessment and service provision within acute inpatient and community setting and awareness of the Physio role in palliative care

Desirable

Physiotherapy experience in palliative care
Palliative care rehabilitation
Manual Handling training experience
