Medcis Path Labs India Pvt Ltd is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to join our team in Kolkata, West Bengal. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a crucial role in collecting blood samples from patients for diagnostic testing, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and patient comfort throughout the process.
Responsibilities:
• Verify patients' identification and personal data to ensure accurate sample collection.
• Assess patients' medical history and reasons for blood collection to determine the appropriate procedure.
• Prepare and select appropriate needles and techniques for blood collection, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Perform venipuncture or fingerstick procedures to draw blood samples from patients.
• Analyze blood samples using diagnostic tools or equipment when necessary, following established protocols and guidelines.
• Prepare blood samples for shipping, including proper labeling and matching with patient information.
• Provide diagnostic notes and results to medical practitioners, hospitals, and healthcare facilities in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records of patient identities, blood collection amounts, and diagnostic results for documentation and tracking purposes.
• Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment used for blood sample extraction and analysis.
• Place orders for laboratory supplies and ensure adequate inventory levels to support daily operations.
Requirements:
• Diploma or certification in Phlebotomy or Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution.
• Entry-level candidates are welcome; relevant experience in phlebotomy or healthcare settings is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of phlebotomy techniques, procedures, and safety protocols.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in sample collection, labeling, and documentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills for maintaining records and placing supply orders.
