About the role
Reporting to the Head of People Services, this role manages end to end payroll operations across RACGP and JCTS, ensuring compliance, accuracy and system optimisation. Leading a team, you’ll partner with internal and external stakeholders and support strategic goals.

As our Payroll Manager, you'll also:
lead the payroll function across multiple entities, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant operations aligned with legislative and enterprise agreement requirements.
maintain and enhance payroll systems (e.g., iChris), ensure robust documentation and contingencies, and apply lean methodologies to drive continuous improvement and future readiness.
champion a service-oriented approach, manage escalated payroll matters, build strong internal and external partnerships, and contribute to cross-functional initiatives that enhance employee experience.
ensure strong internal controls, lead audits, monitor legislative changes, provide insightful reporting and analysis, and contribute to strategic planning through compelling business cases and research.

Skills Experience

Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, or Business; strong knowledge of employment legislation, taxation, and superannuation; experience with iChris and contemporary HR functions.
Proven ability to lead a team to drive continuous improvement, and consistently exceptional payroll processes and outcomes.
Well-developed interpersonal skills to consult across diverse stakeholders; demonstrated stakeholder management experience within complex operational structures.
Ability to work autonomously under pressure, manage competing deadlines, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
