Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optical Assistant to join our dynamic team. Duties
Assist patients with selecting eyewear and lens options, providing knowledgeable guidance on products and services
Pre-test patients (autorefractor, color testing, IOP testing)
Prepare and verify patient prescriptions using medical terminology and optical specifications
Conduct preliminary vision tests and assist with eye examinations under supervision
Manage inventory of optical supplies and maintain cleanliness of the laboratory and examination areas
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions, explaining product features, and facilitating sales transactions
Educate patients on lens options, frame styles, and proper eyewear care to enhance customer satisfaction
Collaborate with optometrists and other team members to deliver comprehensive patient care
Qualifications
Previous experience with optical products/pre-testing is preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology related to vision care is advantageous
Experience in retail sales or customer service roles, particularly within healthcare or optical settings, is a plus
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly to patients
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
A proactive attitude with a desire to learn about optical technology and patient care standards
