The Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Paralegal to join the passionate SPC team.
The Paralegal plays a vital support role within the Legal Compliance team, working closely with the Head of Legal Business Partnering, Group General Counsel Company Secretary and broader business teams to ensure legal processes run smoothly, efficiently, and with attention to detail.
This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining legal documentation, assisting with contract lifecycle management, supporting compliance processes, and coordinating with external legal providers. It’s a great opportunity for a motivated legal support professional to gain broad exposure across commercial, regulatory, and employment law within a dynamic, fast-paced food beverage environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract Support Document Management
Assist in the preparation, review, and formatting of commercial contracts and legal documents (e.g. NDAs, supply agreements, terms of trade).
Maintain the contract management system, including version control, filing, execution tracking, and renewal notifications.
Ensure legal templates are current and accessible and assist with template updates as needed.
Legal Administration Operational
Coordinate the approval and signing process for contracts and legal documents.
Maintain accurate legal records, registers, and correspondence in line with privacy and confidentiality requirements.
Support the legal team with matter tracking, reporting, and diary/calendar management.
Compliance Governance Support
Assist with the administration of compliance activities such as policy updates, training records, and regulatory submissions.
Help track and log incidents, complaints, or legal enquiries, escalating to the Head of Legal BP or Group General Counsel Company Secretary where necessary.
Liaise with internal stakeholders to gather information for legal or compliance matters.
Company Secretarial Support
Support the Company Secretary function with the coordination of board and committee meetings, including preparation and collation of meeting papers.
Maintain statutory registers (e.g. directors, shareholdings) and assist with lodgement of ASIC forms and annual returns.
Assist with the drafting and maintenance of governance documents such as board resolutions, minutes, delegations of authority, policies.
External Counsel Stakeholder Coordination
Coordinate with external legal providers for document sharing, invoice tracking, and status updates.
Support the People Culture team with employment-related documentation and investigation logistics under guidance from the Head of Legal BP.
Provide general administrative support across legal, compliance, and risk management functions.
The successful candidate will have:
Tertiary qualification in law, legal studies, or business (or working towards one).
2+ years of experience in a paralegal or legal assistant role, ideally within an in-house legal team or fast-paced commercial environment.
Strong working knowledge of MS Office and document management tools (e.g. SharePoint, Plexus, DocuSign).
Exposure to contracts, reporting, administration, regulatory compliance, ASIC register, ASX listing requirements, IP registers and employment law processes preferred.
Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
Discreet and trustworthy with sensitive information.
Clear communicator with a proactive, can-do attitude.
Able to manage competing deadlines with professionalism.
Comfortable working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced setting.
