Job description
About the internship:
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Assist compliance/legal teams in monitoring adherence to internal and external regulations.
2. Support due diligence, internal audits, and risk assessments.
3. Help maintain compliance records, registers, and logs.
4. Track legal and regulatory updates relevant to the organization.
5. Prepare compliance presentations, summaries, and training material.
6. Contribute to policy updates and internal communications related to compliance awareness.

An in-house paralegal provides legal support directly within a company, assisting the company's legal team by conducting legal research, drafting documents, managing case files, coordinating with external counsel, and performing administrative tasks related to legal matters, all under the supervision of in-house attorneys, specializing in the company's specific legal needs and industry regulations. Key responsibilities of an in-house paralegal may include:
• Legal Research: Conducting thorough research on legal issues relevant to the company's operations, including case law, statutes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Document Drafting: Preparing and drafting legal documents like contracts, letters, memorandums, agreements, and internal policies under attorney supervision.
• Case Management: Organizing and maintaining case files, tracking deadlines, and coordinating with external counsel on litigation matters.
• Contract Review: Reviewing and summarizing contracts, identifying potential legal risks, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Compliance Support: Assisting with compliance initiatives by reviewing company practices and procedures to identify potential legal risks and ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
• Discovery Support: Gathering and organizing documents for discovery requests in litigation, including electronically stored information (ESI).
• Administrative Tasks: Managing legal calendars, scheduling meetings, preparing presentations, and maintaining legal databases.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Paralegal Certificate or Degree: Completion of a paralegal studies program or equivalent legal training
• Strong Research Skills: Proficiency in legal research methodologies and databases
• Excellent Writing and Communication Skills: Ability to draft clear, concise, and accurate legal documents
• Organizational Skills: Capability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and maintain accurate case files
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to reviewing documents and ensuring accuracy
• Knowledge of Relevant Laws: Familiarity with legal principles related to the company's industry
• Software Proficiency: Expertise in legal software applications like document management systems and electronic filing platforms
