Job Description
Chestermere Optometry is looking for a friendly, organized, and patient-focused Optometric Assistant to join our close knit and supportive team. This role is available for both part-time and full-time hours and includes some evenings and Saturdays.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in creating an exceptional patient experience. While the primary focus of this role is front desk administration and pretesting, there is excellent opportunity to learn optical dispensing, eyewear styling, and additional clinical skills as you grow within the practice.

What You'll Be Doing
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Welcoming patients and creating a warm, positive first impression
Checking patients in and out while ensuring appointments run smoothly
Answering phones, scheduling appointments, and assisting with patient inquiries
Performing pretesting and preliminary diagnostic testing before the doctor examination
Maintaining accurate patient records and supporting daily administrative tasks
Assisting with clinic flow to ensure an efficient and exceptional patient experience
Supporting patients throughout their visit with professionalism and compassion
Managing contact lens orders for inventory and notifying patients when the orders arrive
Teach patients how to safely insert, remove, and care for their contact lenses and specialty lenses
As your skills develop, you'll also have opportunities to:
Help patients select frames that suit their prescription, lifestyle, and personal style
Educate patients on lens options and coatings
Adjust, repair, and dispense eyewear
Learn additional optical and clinical skills through ongoing training

What We're Looking For
Experience in an optometry or optical clinic is an asset, but it is not required. We are happy to train the right person who has a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
