Optical Assistant

Job description:

We are seeking a Full Time dedicated and detail oriented Optical assistant with Optical dispensing experience to join our team in the Southeast of Calgary. You will be a part of a dynamic eyecare team that supports our optometrists in providing organized and exceptional patient care in a timely manner which includes but not limited to patient intake, selection/fitting/dispensing of eyewear, insurance direct billing and contact lens training. Applicants will be required to be knowledgeable in educating patients on frame and lens options for various styles of prescription eyewear as well as adjustments, repairs and troubleshooting problems. The Ideal candidate should be able to handle day to day operations in the office and must be a team player, effective at communicating with others and multitasking in a timely manner.

Job details and responsibilities

**All applicants must have experience in Optical frame and Ophthalmic lens selections of various types, as well as dispensing and adjustment/repairs. The primary role will be assisting the Optician and Assistant Manager in these duties as well as the following:

· Scheduling and managing appointments. Greeting and welcoming patients. Troubleshooting patient concerns. Working with the team to ensure all patients receive exceptional service. Understanding and triaging emergency eye care. Exceptional organizational and time management skills. Managing contact lens patients and inspection of contact lenses on arrival. Selling contact lenses and frame accessories. Processing insurance claims. Punctual and able to multitask in a busy environment.

Will only review applicants with at least 1-2 years Optical dispensing experience in optometry and/or optical.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
