Sunset Memorial Stone is a fast-growing company with customers throughout North America, providing a wide offering of granite cabinets for cemeteries (columbaria) as well as cemetery monuments within the province of Alberta. Sunset is expanding into the US Market through a subsidiary called Columbarium USA. The company has now grown to the point where we need to immediately hire an Operations Manager.

Reporting to the President, the Operations Manager will be expected to add value to management, business teams, and suppliers through well thought out project plans that are updated on a regular basis. The successful candidate will also be very passionate about process improvement focusing on accuracy and efficiency across teams.

What will you do?

- Provide the interface between the company’s engineers and overseas suppliers to ensure stock is ordered in a timely and efficient manner.

- Create shop build schedules for two separate manufacturing sites.

- Provide metal fabricator suppliers their own schedules that fit with Sunset’s shop build schedule.

- Develop installation plans and organize product deliveries, including the provision of customs documentation.

- Establish or modify new processes to improve overall operational efficiencies.

The right candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications:

- Highly organized with an ability to handle multiple projects on his/her plate.

- Very strong with Microsoft Excel – programming including some macro experience.

- Strong people person who communicates well, is persuasive, and good at establishing win/win results in a negotiation.

- A demonstrated flexibility to quickly and creatively pivot to a revised direction in a quickly changing environment.

- Proven track record with a minimum of 5 years experience in Project, Logistics, or Operations management.

- Previous experience in project management tools like MS Project is an advantage but not mandatory for this position.
