Operations Assistant — Central Kitchen

Oakleigh, VIC 3166 | Full-Time | Immediate Start
$55,000 – $75,000 per year (depending on experience)

BOWLTIFUL is an established and fast-growing hospitality brand known for our signature hand-pulled Lanzhou wonton chicken soup noodles. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a dedicated and driven Operations Assistant to manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of our Central Kitchen in Oakleigh.

About the Role
You will be responsible for managing the daily operations of our central kitchen, ensuring food preparation, packaging, stock control and distribution to our store locations are carried out efficiently, consistently and to the highest standard. This is a hands-on role that requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to take ownership of processes and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Food Prep & Packaging: Oversee and manage the preparation and packaging of food products in accordance with our quality and food safety standards
Stock & Inventory Management: Take ownership of stock levels, conduct regular inventory checks, manage ordering and coordinate incoming deliveries
Kitchen Operations: Manage the daily workflow of the central kitchen to ensure smooth, efficient and consistent operations at all times
Distribution & Logistics: Coordinate and manage the delivery and distribution of food products to store locations as required
Quality Control: Ensure all food products meet Bowltiful's quality standards before leaving the central kitchen
Hygiene & Food Safety: Enforce and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation and food safety compliance across the kitchen
SOP Management: Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures and food handling guidelines are followed strictly and consistently by all kitchen staff
About You

We are looking for candidates who are:

Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
Able to supervise and lead a small team with strong leadership skills, providing clear direction, motivating team members and ensuring tasks are completed to the required standard
A natural problem solver who can take initiative and ownership of processes
Punctual, reliable and professional at all times
Committed to maintaining high standards and driving operational efficiency
Physically fit and capable of handling manual tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
Attentive to detail with the ability to implement and enforce procedures
Hold a Food Safety Certificate or are willing to obtain one prior to commencing
Hold a valid driver's licence (preferred but not essential)
Previous experience in a kitchen, food production, logistics or operations environment is highly regarded
Ability to speak both English and Mandarin/Chinese is highly regarded, as you will be working within a multicultural team environment
