Responsibilities
The NP or PA will support physicians, collaborate with consultants, nurses, case managers, rehab providers, and others to provide high-quality, efficient care for Hospitalist Service
This hire is required to work at least 1 shift every 90 days in order to maintain their status
The NP is responsible for assessing and managing various patient populations, including those with medical and/or surgical conditions, as well as providing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, developing appropriate plans of care, and conducting ongoing evaluations
May also perform additional duties, such as precepting a small group of learners
Provides direct care, counseling, and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural settings
Performs complete histories and physical examinations
Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests
Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings
Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures
Consistently provides high-quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries
Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population

Our facilities include our 178-bed Magnet® Recognized hospital, several urgent care and walk-in care facilities, primary care and specialty care practices in the Wentworth Health Partners group, and multiple testing centers.

Our Hospitalist team is seeking a per diem Nocturnist Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) for as needed after hours cross-coverage from 5:00 PM to 3:00 AM or 9:00 PM to 9:00 AM. The NP or PA will support physicians, collaborate with consultants, nurses, case managers, rehab providers, and others to provide high-quality, efficient care for Hospitalist Service. This hire is required to work at least 1 shift every 90 days in order to maintain their status. The position is based on the WDH main campus at 789 Central Avenue in Dover, NH.

Summary

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider. The NP is responsible for assessing and managing various patient populations, including those with medical and/or surgical conditions, as well as providing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, developing appropriate plans of care, and conducting ongoing evaluations. May also perform additional duties, such as precepting a small group of learners.
