Job Description
Job Overview
The purpose of this role is to perform vehicle integration activities including Design, Integration, DMU, DFA, and GD&T activities to support complete vehicle development and assembly.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform integration checks for vehicle assembly.
• Prepare DFA (Design for Assembly) and DMU (Digital Mock-Up) documents.
• Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis and GD&T activities for complete vehicle assembly.
• Resolve assembly-level issues during 2W vehicle development.
• Integrate newly added components into the vehicle architecture.
• Maintain vehicle-level CAD data and assemblies.
• Prepare AIS drawings for homologation requirements.
• Create and maintain assembly sequence documentation.
• Assist in preparation of PFD, PFMEA, and Control Plan documentation.
• Prepare and maintain torque sheets as per design requirements.
• Manage and maintain vehicle BOMs.
• Create and maintain design release data packs for component procurement and vehicle builds.
• Support initial mule builds and prototype development activities.
• Design and develop enclosures for electrical peripheral items.
• Design and develop vehicle harnesses.
• Integrate harnesses and electrical peripherals into vehicle systems.
• Resolve vendor technical queries and recommend engineering improvements.
• Support achievement of program targets related to product performance, schedule, PPAP, and quality.
• Support cost reduction and warranty improvement initiatives.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for customers and internal stakeholders.
• Work effectively with cross-functional teams and ensure compliance with established product development processes.
• Solve technical problems and provide reliable, cost-effective, and user-friendly design solutions.
• Evaluate alternate design concepts and manufacturing processes.
• Define and execute design verification plans.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements at component, system, and vehicle levels.
• Participate in APQP meetings with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
Essential Qualifications
• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience, preferably in the Electric Vehicle / Automotive industry.
