Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer with 5 to 8 years of experience to join our IT infrastructure team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network design, implementation, and maintenance, along with expertise in networking technologies and protocols.
This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Network Design and Architecture :
• Design, plan, and implement network infrastructure solutions to meet business requirements.
• Develop network architecture blueprints, diagrams, and documentation.
Network Implementation
• Configure and deploy networking equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Install and configure network protocols, services, and security features.
Network Monitoring And Optimization
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
• Implement performance optimization techniques to improve network efficiency.
Security And Compliance
• Implement and maintain network security policies and procedures to protect against cybersecurity threats.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR).
• Incident Response and Problem Resolution:
• Respond to network incidents and outages, diagnosing and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Document incident response procedures and post-mortem analyses for continuous improvement.
Change Management
• Manage network configuration changes, following change management processes and procedures.
• Coordinate with other IT teams and stakeholders to implement network changes seamlessly.
• Capacity Planning and Scalability:
• Conduct capacity planning assessments to anticipate future network growth and scalability needs.
• Implement solutions to scale network infrastructure to accommodate business growth.
Vendor Management
• Evaluate and select network hardware, software, and service providers.
• Manage vendor relationships and contracts, ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
Required Skills And Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5 to 8 years of experience in network engineering or a related role.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols).
• Hands-on experience with network equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto Networks, etc.
• Proficiency in network security principles and best practices.
• Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, Nagios).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
