Job Description

Mō te tūranga | About the role

At Fulton Hogan, good work happens when good people roll up their sleeves and get stuck in. We’re building a talent pool for multiple field-based opportunities across our Facilities Maintenance team, and we’re keen to hear from practical, reliable, multi-skilled people who enjoy hands-on work and being part of a crew that gets the job done.

This is not a single vacancy. It’s a broader recruitment campaign for a range of related roles that support the delivery of safe, reliable infrastructure and maintenance outcomes for our communities. Depending on your experience, you could be matched to work involving roading maintenance, minor construction, general labouring, machinery or plant operation, spray vehicle work, inspections, first response, and other field-based operational tasks.

If you like variety, practical work, being outdoors, and working with a team that backs each other, this could be a great fit.

Ngā tino kawenga mahi | Key role responsibilities

Support day-to-day field operations across minor construction, roading maintenance, and general facilities related maintenance activities.
Operate vehicles, plant, machinery, tools, spray units, or specialist equipment in line with your training, licences, and safety requirements.
Carry out routine and reactive works such as pothole repairs, asset and sign maintenance, network upkeep, inspections, and first response support.
Complete basic equipment checks, identify hazards, and report faults or defects promptly.
Work as part of a crew that values safety, quality, flexibility, and getting the job done right the first time.
Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with

Experience in field-based operational work such as general labouring, roading maintenance, civil works, plant or machinery operation, spraying, maintenance support, or similar hands-on environments.
A strong safety-first mindset, good practical judgement, and a willingness to follow processes and work standards.
A positive, reliable attitude, the ability to work well in a team, and the flexibility to turn your hand to different tasks as needed.
A full Class 1 driver licence, with Class 2, WTR endorsements, traffic management experience, TC/STMS qualifications, or specialist operating tickets all seen as an advantage.
The ability to carry out the inherent requirements of a hands-on outdoor role, with a willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute across multiple crews or work types.
He pai te mahi, he pai ngā painga | Good work, good benefits

At Fulton Hogan, we genuinely care about the wellbeing of our people and giving them the tools and opportunities they need to succeed and grow with us. You’ll have access to:

Medical insurance and Life insurance after the eligibility period.
KiwiSaver employer contributions after service milestones, up to 7%.
Parental leave top up payment with additional return to work support.
Ongoing training and development, with clear career growth and progression opportunities.
Great discounts at a wide range of retailers.
Ko wai mātou | About us

At Fulton Hogan, we’re here to do good work with good people. We’re reliable, friendly, and forward moving. Titles matter less than ideas, and we back our people to learn, grow, and make an impact. We take the work seriously, not ourselves.

As an integrated infrastructure, construction and services business, we design, build, operate and maintain critical assets across New Zealand and Australia. Our work helps create, connect and care for communities, and the people behind that work are what make the difference.

Me pēhea te tono | How to apply

If you’ve got hands-on experience, a strong work ethic, and you’re ready to be part of a team doing work that matters, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply now to join our general recruitment campaign for upcoming and current field-based opportunities. Tell us about your experience, licences, machinery or plant capability, and the kind of work you’re best suited to.

All successful candidates must undergo and pass a pre-employment medical and drug screen prior to employment.
