Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Laser Programmer Technician to join our sheet-metal manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating laser cutting machines using MetaCAM software to produce high-quality components according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of machining processes, and the ability to read blueprints. The Laser Operator will play a key role in ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
Experienced operator with minimum of 2-3 years' Mitsubishi CO2/Fiber Laser CNC Programming, setting up, and operating laser cutting machines
Experienced in AutoCad adn Nesting Software (MetaCAM) required
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Develop CNC programs for productions runs and optimize nesting for material efficiency
Cycling parts through cleaning machine, as required
Ensure quality and accuracy of all programmed jobs
Identify and understand grade and gauges/thickness of materials
Organizing, labelling and putting parts together to be shipped
Proper monitoring of cutting process to ensure consistent results
Perform routine maintenance checks as required and instructed to ensure proper machine operation and safety
Attention to detail and pride in work quality and output along with an ongoing desire for quality improvement
Ability to communicate clearly
Ability to multi- task under time pressure
Ability to work as a team or individually, as needed
Adhere to all Health and Safety requirements
Able to lift weights up to 50lbs
