SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will provide strategic and technical leadership for manufacturing engineering activities that improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost performance. You will lead continuous improvement initiatives, support new product introduction efforts, and help drive operational excellence through Lean manufacturing principles and process innovation.

Manufacturing Engineering Leadership
Lead and provide strategic direction to the manufacturing engineering team.
Support plant objectives related to safety, quality, production, delivery, and cost reduction.
Participate as a member of the plant leadership team to help determine operational strategy and direction.
Prioritize engineering projects and routine activities to align with business objectives.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams
Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
Drive Lean manufacturing initiatives and support expansion of Lean culture throughout the facility.
Identify and implement process improvements and new technologies.
Utilize problem-solving and root cause analysis tools such as 8D, 5 Why, and statistical analysis.
Support engineering change management, standard work instructions (SWI), testing, and audit processes.
Ensure manufacturing processes meet required specifications and efficiency targets.
Required Experience
8+ years of manufacturing engineering and/or technical leadership experience.
Experience with manufacturing processes including assembly, fabrication, powder coat paint, and electrical testing.
Experience leading engineering teams within a manufacturing environment.
Experience supporting Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Strong understanding of quality systems including PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, and control plans.
Experience with engineering change management and process conformance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Knowledge of auditing processes and manufacturing testing systems.
Ability to manage multiple priorities with urgency and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively with employees at all organizational levels.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred, or equivalent experience.
Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification preferred.
