Job Description
The Finance Manager, within the Global Securities Controls and Accounting department is a proactive, highly motivated, analytical, and technical contributor to the team. The manager will review and improve finance and accounting processes, oversee quarterly controls and financial trending analysis. Utilize knowledge of GAAP and STAT accounting treatment for investments and financial products and will support the teams initiatives to develop and enhance automated solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gain specialized knowledge in finance and accounting for global investments, grasp the intricacies of accounting and reporting for designated investments, and rapidly familiarize yourself with company operations and systems to independently meet deadlines.
- Work directly with Process Director on accounting/reporting issues with Controllership mindset.
- Review GAAP/ STAT/ IFRS accounting controls, financial data trending analysis, ensure timely processing and accuracy of financial results.
- Partner with other investments teams
- Utilize existing technology and contribute towards MetLifes continuous improvement efforts to automate processes, increase efficiency, and provide quality solutions.
- Communicate and present results to leadership effectively, using concise summaries and recommendations.
- Provide GAAP and STAT internal/external audit support.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
- CA/CPA with 10-12 years of experience in global investments accounting/closing & reporting profile in a public or private company environment preferably in GCC setup.
- Working knowledge of GAAP/STAT accounting concepts, principles, and practices.
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, embedded formulas, etc)
- Strong analytical, technical and communication skills.
- Knowledge of business intelligence and automation platforms such as Alteryx/Copilot/Power PIatform, etc. will be preferred.
- Knowledge of financial accounting and reporting systems (PAM, BI Publish, PeopleSoft, Other Oracle products) is preferred.
