Meter Maintenance Technician
Field Based – Travel will be required
Who are we?
MPAAS are an accredited Meter Operator and Meter Asset Manager which means that not only do we own the smart meter asset, but we can fit the smart meter on behalf of your energy supplier. This makes us the face of the energy supplier; the ones who visit your home or business and our qualified Dual Fuel Meter Installers undertake the installation.
In addition to this we also undertake revenue protection work for our energy suppliers. That’s why we pride ourselves in delivering first class customer service to all of our consumers. From the point of booking through to installation our personalised consumer journey keeps everyone informed every step of the way.
Summary of the role
You will be required to visit customers property to fault find, repair and maintain their smart meter.
You will be given full training to be able to diagnose and repair a smart meter, this could be swapping the sim, reprogramming, battery resets or recommissioning.
Travel will be required with this role, sometimes national. If/when you are required to stay away from home, all accommodation will be provided.
Communicating with customers, dealing with any concerns they may have over their smart meter.
What we are ideally looking for in you
Full training will be given but any previous experience within the utilities/metering industry would be beneficial.
Full, manual driving licence with no more than 6 points
Training will be from our head office in Haydock, Merseyside. You will be required to travel to Haydock to undertake a 1 week training programme.
Ability to travel/work away from home when necessary
Attention to detail
Manual dexterity – Ability to use tools such as screwdriver, cable cutters etc

Is articulate - an excellent communicator in both written and verbal communication who understands the importance of customer focus and the use of business language
Has a keen eye for detail
Can also work independently, and is proud to own and drive their remit of work

The Salary & Terms applicable for this role
Basic Salary: £35,000 (£32,500 basic salary + £2,500 London Weighting)
Attendance Bonus: £150 per month
Company Van, fuel card, uniform, mobile etc
Annual Leave: 23 days + bank holidays (Plus an extra day for every year worked at MPAAS)

The training for this role is 2 weeks, 1 week from our Head Office in Haydock, Merseyside and 1 week in the field mentoring. You will be required to stay away from home for this period, would you have any issues with this? (All hotel accomodation is paid for)
