MEDICAL TECHNICIAN

About the Position: This position is located at Naval Branch Health Clinic Crane in Crane, Indiana. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. ["Receives patient's specimens of blood, urine, stool, microbiological and viral cultures, tissue, body fluids and cytological specimens.", 'Check that all specimens are properly and completely labeled.', 'Prepare specimens for analysis, ensuring that the physiologic properties are maintained.', 'Ensure timely distribution to laboratory sections of all specimens received.', 'Perform and calculate manual cell counts and properly identifies abnormal and normal blood cell populations.', 'Operates, calibrates, maintains and troubleshoots all blood bank, chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and microbiology analyzers, in addition to laboratory centrifuges.', 'Ensures proper documentation of patient identification and proper specimen identification in accordance with regulations.', 'Collects, tests, and processes donated blood into treatment specific components'] FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
