Medical Office Administrator

Position Summary:

Sea to Sky Orthopaedics located in Whistler and Squamish is looking for a medical office administrator to join our multidisciplinary clinic.

This position performs a variety of medical office administration and clerical duties such as:

Regular administrative and reception duties: registers patients, answers telephone, general correspondence, record keeping, chart notes, reports, medical billings, data entry and word processing, records, transcribes, types, drafts, creates, updates all forms of correspondence;
Communicating with labs, healthcare providers, and insurance companies;
Scheduling and confirming appointments;
Coordinating appointment waitlists and surgical waitlists;
Leading patients to exam rooms and optimizing clinic flow;
Maintaining medical inventory by coordinating new supplies as needed.
Qualifications:

Medical Office Assistant or other administrative role: 1 year (preferred)
Medical Office Assistant Certificate (an asset)
Proficiency with computers and all office machines
Good English skills
Reliable attendance.
Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and with others.
Demonstrated proficiency in computer word processing, spreadsheet applications, and specialized clinical information systems.
Demonstrated ability to utilize and understand Medical Terminology.
Knowledge of EMRs: Plexia or other EMR experience is an asset.
Ability to balance competing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
