Key Responsibilities
• Concept Design & Development
• Develop machine concepts from scratch based on functional requirements
• Translate customer/plant needs into engineering solutions
• Perform feasibility studies and concept validation
• Engineering Calculations & Analysis
• Perform detailed design calculations (strength, torque, power, stress, fatigue, etc.)
• Validate designs using engineering principles and hand calculations (not just software outputs)
• Selection of motors, gearboxes, drives, bearings, and structural elements
• Machine Design Ownership
• End-to-end design responsibility: concept → design → prototyping → validation
• Work on complete systems/subsystems rather than isolated components
• Cross-functional Collaboration
• Work closely with Manufacturing, Assembly, Quality, and SCM teams
• Support shopfloor during trials, debugging, and improvements
• Continuous Improvement
• Identify design inefficiencies and drive optimization (cost, performance, reliability)
• Standardization and modularization of machine designs
