Mathematics Teacher (Grades 8–10)
Job Summary The Mathematics Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned mathematics lessons for students in Grades 8–10. The role focuses on developing students' mathematical knowledge, logical reasoning, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills while fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver effective mathematics lessons aligned with the prescribed curriculum.
- Teach mathematical concepts using a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
- Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, assignments, and assessments.
- Assess, evaluate, and monitor student progress through quizzes, tests, projects, assignments, and examinations.
- Provide timely feedback and academic support to help students achieve learning objectives.
- Encourage logical reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving through interactive learning activities.
- Integrate educational technology and digital learning tools into classroom instruction.
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning workplace.
- Identify and support students requiring additional academic assistance or enrichment.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance and progress.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings, staff meetings, professional development programs, and school events.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, grades, and student performance.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, review, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support mathematics clubs, competitions, enrichment programs, and other co-curricular activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred or required, depending on school policy).
- Valid teaching license/certification where required by applicable regulations.
Experience
- Minimum of 2–5 years of teaching experience in Mathematics at the middle or secondary school level (preferred).
- Experience teaching students in Grades 8–10 is an advantage.
