Job description
The Materials Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of manufacturing processes by overseeing the procurement, storage, and distribution of materials. This position demands a unique blend of logistical expertise, inventory management, and strategic planning to optimise costs while enhancing efficiency and maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels to achieve an optimal balance, preventing overstocking or shortages. Implement and oversee inventory tracking systems, conduct regular stock audits, and drive initiatives to reduce excess inventory.
Procurement: Develop and sustain strong relationships with suppliers to secure timely delivery of high-quality materials at cost-effective rates. Negotiate contracts and terms to maximise the company's financial advantage.
Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate with production, planning, and engineering teams to accurately forecast material requirements. Manage logistics for incoming shipments to ensure alignment with production timelines.
Quality Control: Verify that all incoming materials meet strict quality standards. Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to resolve any discrepancies or non-conformances.
Budget Management: Oversee the materials budget by handling forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting on material expenses.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all applicable industry regulations, including RoHS, REACH, and other standards relevant to electronic manufacturing.
You will be an integral part of the Production Team, identifying production-critical processes and critical success factors. Managing the Performance Measurement Process (PMP), Training files and ISO Matrix, and coordinating with other departments to facilitate issue resolution and participate in cross-functional team projects.
