Conestoga Tile – Manager of Architectural Design Services (Maryland Territory)
Conestoga Tile is looking for a motivated sales and relationship driven individual to help grow our business within the Maryland architectural and design community!
This candidate will achieve sales objectives by developing and maintaining relationships with commercial designers, architects, and developers to facilitate the placement of Conestoga Tile products in design specifications. The ideal candidate will have direct Architectural and Design (AD) sales experience and/or tile and stone experience.
Successful candidates must reside in the Baltimore-Washington Metro area, be able to work as needed from their home or our Columbia, MD office, and call on customers throughout their assigned territory.
The Manager of Architectural Design Services is a member of our Commercial team and reports directly to the Director of Architectural Services.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist architects and designers in the specification and application of our manufacturer’s products and services.
• Focus on solidifying Conestoga Tile manufacturer’s specifications during the design stage and track those projects through the stages of construction.
• Maintain architectural libraries, whether digital or physical, with relevant and fresh materials from our vendors.
• Build solid, lasting relationships with designers and product specifiers in the Pennsylvania territory. Identify new targets and develop relationships with new firms.
• Represent Conestoga Tile’s products and services by hosting or participating in events, such as:
• “Lunch Learn” style Continuing Education programs or product presentations.
• Brief product updates via one-on-one client meetings, breakfast presentation, or vendor happy hours.
• Vendor Fairs in cooperation with non-competing vendor reps.
• Client appreciation events (sponsored by a professional organization or in conjunction with Manufacturer partners).
• Be an active member in a local design or construction organization (i.e. IIDA, AIA).
• Update and maintain internal database information for architects and interior designers utilizing CRM system.
• Be an active participant in Commercial department meetings with the goal of being in a constant pursuit of improvement in processes, strategies and product offering.
• Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BA) from a four-year college, university or an architectural and/or interior design school.
- Working knowledge of construction documents and sales experience with architectural and/or interior design firms.
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office, CRM, Social Media platforms) are required.
- Ability to effectively and professional present information in written and verbal form to groups of design and construction professionals.
- Pro-active and results-oriented with a strong work ethic.
- A background in architectural sales is highly desirable.
- Position requires a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Pay: $65,000-$85,000
