The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada’s largest mental health teaching hospital and a world-leading research center dedicated to advancing mental health care. The Data Insights team provides centralized reporting and decision support across all CAMH portfolios, while the Krembil Centre for Neuroinformatics (KCNI) leverages multimodal data to transform our understanding of brain health.
Position Summary
CAMH is seeking a Manager, Data Architecture to lead the design, implementation, and governance of scalable, robust, and FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) data architectures. This role will drive data strategy, oversee technical architecture, and support integrated care by ensuring clinical, operational, and research data can be leveraged for decision-making, improved patient outcomes, and research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership Data Strategy
Define and execute data architecture strategy aligned with CAMH’s mission and strategic priorities.
Manage, mentor, and guide a team of data engineers, stewards, and architects.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (clinicians, researchers, IT teams) and external partners.
Technical Architecture Innovation
Design and implement scalable data architectures and governance frameworks.
Ensure security, compliance, and data integrity while integrating new technologies.
Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.
Project Resource Management
Oversee the execution of large-scale data projects, ensuring timely delivery.
Optimize team and platform resources to support strategic initiatives.
Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Team Development HR
Recruit, onboard, and manage team members.
Provide mentorship, training, and performance evaluations.
Foster a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
Continuous Learning Development
Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry trends.

Job Requirements
Education:
Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related field.
Enterprise architecture certification required.
Experience:
10+ years in data engineering, with 5+ years in data architecture leadership.
Expertise in data modeling (dimensional, Data Vault), ETL tools, and cloud platforms.
Strong knowledge of data security, governance frameworks, and AI/ML integration.
Experience managing structured/unstructured data across healthcare or research environments.
Proficiency in programming (Python, Java, R), database management (SQL, NoSQL), and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).
