Job Description
Job Summary :
- The Manager - Accounts Payable is responsible for overseeing the organization's accounts payable function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments, maintaining strong internal controls, and managing vendor relationships.
- The role also involves leading the AP team, ensuring compliance with statutory and company policies, and supporting audits and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities :
Accounts Payable Management :
- Oversee end-to-end accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, validation, posting, and payment.
- Ensure timely and accurate vendor payments in line with agreed terms.
- Monitor AP aging and resolve overdue or disputed items.
Vendor & Internal Coordination :
- Manage vendor relationships and resolve payment or invoice discrepancies.
- Coordinate with procurement, operations, and other departments for invoice approvals and issue resolution.
Compliance & Controls :
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.
- Ensure adherence to applicable tax regulations (GST/VAT, TDS/withholding tax, etc.).
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
Process Improvement :
- Review and improve AP processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Drive automation and effective use of ERP and workflow systems.
- Implement best practices and standard operating procedures.
Reporting & Cash Flow :
- Prepare AP reports including aging, payment forecasts, and MIS reports.
- Support cash flow planning and working capital management.
Team Leadership :
- Lead, train, and develop the accounts payable team.
- Set goals, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to SLAs and deadlines.
Qualifications & Experience :
Education :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
- Professional qualification (CA / CPA / CMA / MBA Finance) preferred
Experience :
- 5-10 years of experience in accounts payable or accounting functions
- 3-5 years in a supervisory or managerial role
- Experience with ERP systems like ZOHO
Skills & Competencies :
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes
- Good understanding of taxation and statutory compliance
